Terms and Conditions
1. Platform Overview
GearBud is a marketplace platform that allows event professionals and businesses to list
equipment and services for rent or purchase. GearBud does not own, lease, or sell
any of the
listed equipment; instead, we serve as a broker connecting:
- Businesses to other businesses (B2B), and/or
- Businesses to individual end users (B2C)
GearBud facilitates transactions and provides tools for drafting contracts to clarify terms
between the parties involved.
2. Role of GearBud
GearBud acts solely as a platform to:
- Help connect renters and sellers with those seeking equipment
- Collect applicable platform and booking fees on behalf of the service
- Facilitate communication, contract drafting, and agreement between parties.
GearBud is not a party to any rental or sale agreement. We do not own, inspect, store, or
maintain any of the equipment listed on our platform.
3. Liability Disclaimer
You agree to hold GearBud harmless from any claims, damages, injuries, losses, or disputes
arising from:
- The rental, purchase, delivery, use, or return of equipment.
- The condition, accuracy, or availability of listed items.
- Disagreements between the renting/selling party and the renting/buying party.
All risks related to renting, selling, or purchasing equipment lie entirely with the users of the
platform.
4. Rental Policy
4.1 Booking Fees
- GearBud collects a non-refundable booking fee as part of the rental process.
- This booking fee is refundable only if the company offering the equipment is unable to
fulfill the rental.
- If the renter (purchaser) cancels the rental, the booking fee will not be refunded.
4.2 Rental Balance & Security Deposit
- The remaining rental balance (rental fee minus GearBud booking fee) and any security deposit
are paid directly to the company providing the equipment.
- GearBud does not hold, manage, or process the remainder of the rental transaction.
5. Equipment Sales Policy
5.1 In-Person Pickup Sales
- A $10 non-refundable reservation fee is required to reserve gear for local pickup.
- This fee is only refundable if the gear is found to be in a materially different condition
than advertised.
5.2 Shipped Sales (Delivery)
- Offered exclusively by GearBud’s partner stores.
- Full payment is paid directly to the partner store.
- Items include at least a 30-day return policy. These policies can be found on the partner
store’s website, available before checkout.
6. Privacy & Information Sharing
- GearBud will never sell your personal or business information.
- We may share certain documents (e.g., business insurance, government-issued ID) only with
the
business renting equipment to you, to establish trust and security in the transaction.
7. Account Responsibility
Users are responsible for:
- The accuracy of their listings and personal/business data.
- Ensuring they have the rights to rent or sell the listed equipment.
- Complying with all local, state, and federal laws governing equipment rentals and sales.
GearBud reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts at any time at our sole discretion.
8. Changes to Terms
GearBud may revise these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updates will be posted on this page,
and
continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
